Anthony Savill
As a zoologist by profession, Anthony Savill has had a lifelong interest in the sciences, early art and the historical documentation of human history. This is reflected in his usage of collectible treasures and antiquities such as fossils, old type and the copper plates in his current works.
After a long career as a curator and administrator at the Canterbury Museum, Anthony has more recently spent many years on a canal boat travelling through England, France, Holland, Belgium and Western Germany, collecting many of the items he uses in his artwork.
Previously a resident of Okuti Valley, nearby Little River, Anthony now resides in Cashmere, Christchurch.
