Artist statement

My inspiration comes primarily from pattern, order and process. Reflected in my work are my foundations in textile design with how I play with this pattern, creating texture and symmetry.
My cable tie work enables me to create uniformity and rhythm through my construction skills. The techniques involved with my work also make observations about traditional craft techniques with the linking and tying of readily found materials. Further manipulation with colour gives a usually industrial item new life, creating an organic feel.
I enjoy the challenge of transforming these ordinary found objects into desired forms that give me a sense of accomplishment.
