I have always appreciated art and in particular sculptures due to their multi-dimensional presence. The materials of choice come from my professional experience, coupled with a fascination with metals and castings. Although my sculptures are in themselves static, the illusive nature of the design creates a sense of movement or change. Inspiration for my creative practice comes primarily from an appreciation for wildlife and their natural habitats.
In terms of my creative process, I use a mixture of technologies such as 3D scanning and various computer-aided design (CAD) software packages to manipulate forms. Once the model and subsequent engineering drawings and files are created, they are used to create the castings and metal cuts. Finally, I bring it all together for welding, polishing, assembling, and adding the finishing touches.
