Jody Hope Gibbons
Jody Hope Gibbons is a much loved New Zealand artist, who works from her Matakana studio, just north of Auckland. Her works range from abstract painterly bright works to contemporary layered landscapes
Jody has a very extensive language of paint and is excited about surface, mixing media, textures & layers and all with stunning results.
Not one to sit still , her work is ever evolving & currently becoming bolder, colourful & more gestural. She is excited about layering and then removing paint to see the reactions and surface
She is a master of colour and the recurring reference back to the land is now becoming evident as she went full circle to living back on the land.
Born & bred in beautiful Northland, Jody Gibbons is her original name, but she uses her family name of Hope Gibbons as her artist signature to honour the passing of her father.
Jody’s work is held in private collections here & throughout the world. We always have an ever changing selection of Jody’s work from large to small and she is open to discuss commissions through the gallery.
