Marielle was born in Montpellier, south of France.
From a young child she always loved creating things and knew her direction in life had to be in Art, in making beautiful pieces. At just 32, she’s managed to pack a whole trunk of traveling into her life; her traveling has been her learning. She traveled to New Zealand, Spain and US where her first revelation has been making glass jewellery with the lamp-working technique (joggling with liquid glass into a flame).
In her typical way, she began pushing her creative boundaries wanting to learn more, gain more experience. She returned to France, in Paris, to study in AFEDAP (contemporary jewellery school) for two years, learning all the aspects of jewellery making.
In the meantime, she has enlarged her skills by working with different jewellers and gained her diploma.
Coming back in NZ, she had the privilege to share studios of well known jewellers as Peter McKay and Nick Feint. All these experiences allowed her to create an exquisite and distinctive work, combining a French Flair with a hint of Aotearoa inspiration.
