OLD SCHOOL AT THE OLD SCHOOL  on this Saturday the 25 March  between  1 – 6PM at the Okuti Valley Hall.  A free afternoon of DJ’s playing old School beats and trance with old school games for the kids. Bring a picnic, friends and enjoy the last weekend before daylight saving ends.  Organised by Love Little River.

This Saturday also sees the Annual Placemakers  Le Race with lots of cyclists racing the 100k's to Akaroa plus  LE RACE PETITE  starting at 8.05 in Cathedral Square that follows the same route as the full length race but ends in Little River.
This is the perfect race for those not quite ready for the full 100km traditional Placemakers Le Race course.    This event has all the same features as Placemakers Le Race including timing , spot prizes and entertainment at the Little River finish line.  If you have time pop on down to the domain and cheer the cyclists in.  Take care on the roads too.
 26 March - Sunday - Come and Meet and learn about the NZ Falcon - The Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust is delighted to invite our members and supporters to meet a NZ Falcon and hear about these remarkable birds from Vikki Smith.   Vikki, from the Marlborough Falcon Trust, has been working with birds of prey for many years and has been involved with a program to train the birds to scare away less desirable species from vineyards in Marlborough.  To learn about these remarkable birds, join us for an afternoon talk from:  2 - 5pm on Sunday 26 March at the Okuti Valley Hall, Little River
1st April – Saturday - THE BEAST BIKE SHOW –  .  This will be the  first of an annual motorcycle bike show  to be held in Little River at the Little River Hotel  from 10am.  $40.00 entry fee  for bikes -  register via   Incudes free on site camping and BBQ on Sunday.  $1,000's of dollars of prizes.  Local Band Fossil playing.  .  Share your  love of two wheels at Little River's first BEAST (British, European, American, Sports and Touring) Motorbike Show with Food, displays, music deals and prizes plus  spot prizes.  Plans for 2018 include a Motorcycle Rally.  Come to the Little River Hotel for the TRU HIRE Grand Opening

PHOTO COMPETITION - Help create a Little River Brochure by entering the Photo Competition with your own digital photograph/s of Activities, Scenery and Nature in the Little River, Birdlings Flat and Cooptown area.  Submit a photo suitable for publication to by 5pm on the 16 April.  1st Prize $200.00, 2nd Prize $100.00 3rd Prize $50.00.  Competition is supported by the Little River Wairewa Community Trust.  Winners will be notified individually and at the Little River Giant Country Bumpkin Pumpkin Festival on the 23 April. No restrictions on age or number of entries.  Wow, your photo may be used in the Brochure.
